What is an Accessible Website?

An accessible website is a site that allows a person with a disability to browse with the same level of efficiency and enjoyment as other users, by using the capabilities of the system on which it operates and through assistive technologies for accessibility.

Accessibility Adjustments on the Website

The accessibility adjustments on the site were made in accordance with Regulation 35 of the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Regulations (Accessibility Adjustments for Service), 2013, to the Israeli Standard SI 5568 which is based on WCAG 2.0 guidelines. The site has been made accessible to Level A, subject to the changes and adjustments made in the Israeli standard document.

The site supports the use of assistive technologies such as screen reading software, and keyboard navigation by using the Tab and Shift+Tab keys to move between links, the arrow keys, the Enter key for selection, the Esc key to exit menus and windows, and pressing H or a number to move between headings.

The site is checked every 4 months to ensure the maintenance of its accessibility.

Declaration of Partial Compliance with the Standard for Third-Party Content (if any)

On the following pages of the site [List of the URLs of the pages], the page’s accessibility depends on content that does not belong to the organization (third-party content), and therefore we declare partial compliance with the standard for these pages.

Optimal Usability for Accessibility on the Website

On this website, you can browse optimally and accessibly using common browsers, and it is recommended to use the following browsers: Firefox / Opera / Safari / Lynx / Edge / Chrome and screen readers [NVDA / Jaws / Voiceover].

Compliance with Standards

  • All pages on this site are written in valid HTML5 code. Writing in valid code ensures the proper functioning of assistive technologies used by people with disabilities (such as screen readers for the blind).

  • The site was designed with contrasting colors to allow for optimal use by people with low vision and color blindness.

  • The content on the site is semantic. It includes headings, data tables, lists, paragraphs, standard links, form controls, and image descriptions if they are meaningful.

  • The site contains content areas in frames displayed from other websites. These areas are defined using a “title.” Their accessibility, however, depends on the hosted site. For example – Facebook in the sidebar on content pages.

  • The forms on the site are accessible to screen readers and keyboard users.

7. Display on the Site

  • You can change the text size on the site by using the keyboard shortcut CTRL + or by using the menu.

  • Increasing the text size by 200% will display the site as it is shown on mobile devices – for optimal content display.

  • The recommended minimum resolution for viewing the site is a width of 980 pixels. It should be noted that the site is viewable even at a lower resolution.

  • The site is adapted for viewing on mobile devices (responsive).

  • The fonts on the site are sans-serifs, meaning they do not contain edges that interfere with reading flow.

  • The site can be browsed without CSS and still provide a decent result.

  • The dynamic information carousels can be stopped and started using a keyboard/mouse.

  • If you want to make other changes to the text sizes and colors on the site, you can do so through your browser. You are welcome to follow the instructions for changing colors and fonts in your browser. These changes will affect all sites you view with your browser. Some sites may not respond to these changes because they are not accessible.
